UAE Salary Calculator 2026 — No Income Tax Take-Home Pay

The United Arab Emirates has no personal income tax. Your gross salary is your take-home pay — with no deductions for income tax, social security, or medicare. Only UAE nationals contribute 5% to the GPSSA (pension) scheme.

UAE Tax System: Zero Income Tax

The UAE imposes zero personal income tax on salaries. There is no federal or emirate-level tax on employment income. This means your gross salary is your net salary — every dirham you earn is yours to keep. The UAE introduced a 9% federal corporate tax in 2023, but this applies to business profits, not individual salaries.

Value Added Tax (VAT) is 5% on most goods and services (introduced in 2018). There is no capital gains tax, no wealth tax, and no inheritance tax.

GPSSA Pension (UAE Nationals Only)

For UAE nationals working in the public or private sector, the General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) requires a 5% employee contribution of gross salary. The employer contributes 15%. Expatriates are not enrolled in the GPSSA scheme and have no pension deductions.

Housing, School & Other Allowances

In the UAE, many employment contracts include housing allowance, education allowance (for children's school fees), transportation allowance, and annual airfare (return tickets to home country). These are typically paid as cash allowances on top of the base salary and are also tax-free. Some contracts bundle them into a single "all-inclusive" salary package.

Key benefit: Because there is no income tax, your effective tax rate is 0% (or 5% pension for nationals). This is one of the most tax-efficient jurisdictions in the world for employees.
