Why position sizing matters more than entry price
Most new forex traders obsess over where to enter a trade — what price to buy or sell. Experienced traders know that how much you trade matters more. A great entry with a position that's too large can wipe out your account. A mediocre entry with correct position sizing is a manageable loss.
The 1% rule: Never risk more than 1% of your account on a single trade. If you have $10,000, your maximum risk per trade is $100. This calculator tells you exactly how many lots to trade to stay within that limit.

What is a lot in forex trading?
A lot is a standard unit of measurement in forex trading. 1 standard lot = 100,000 units of currency. If you trade EUR/USD with 1 standard lot and the price moves 1 pip, your profit or loss is approximately $10. Mini lots (0.1) = $1 per pip. Micro lots (0.01) = $0.10 per pip. This calculator converts your risk tolerance into the right lot size.
