Vermögensteuer-Rechner 2026 — Österreich

Austria has no wealth tax (Vermögensteuer) — it was abolished in 1993. See how much you save compared to countries that still levy an annual wealth tax.

Why Austria has no wealth tax

Austria abolished its Vermögensteuer (wealth tax) in 1993 and has not reintroduced it. Unlike countries such as Spain (up to 3.5%), France (IFI up to 1.5%), Switzerland (cantonal up to ~1%), Norway (1.1%), and the Netherlands (~2% on deemed returns), Austria does not impose any annual tax on net wealth. This makes Austria particularly attractive for high-net-worth individuals.
