How Bienes Personales works in Argentina

Bienes Personales is an annual wealth tax on assets held by Argentine residents. The first ARS 30 million is exempt. Rates increase progressively from 0.25% (ARS 30-60M) up to 1.5% (over ARS 1.6B). The Aporte Solidario was an extraordinary 2% levy on assets above ARS 200M introduced during the pandemic, which some proposals seek to extend. Argentina is one of the few countries in the world with a broad-based net wealth tax.
