Binance.US Review 2026 — Fees, Safety & Features

Binance.US is the American arm of the world's largest crypto exchange. It offers the lowest fees and widest altcoin selection of any US-regulated exchange, but ongoing regulatory challenges have restricted some features and created uncertainty about its long-term viability.

Fees

Binance.US has the lowest fees of any major US exchange. Base fees are 0.10% maker / 0.10% taker for BTC trading pairs, and 0.10% / 0.20% for other pairs. If you hold BNB, fees drop another 25%. For active traders, this is significantly cheaper than Coinbase (0.5-1.5%) or Kraken (0.16/0.26%). Withdrawal fees are also low — Bitcoin is 0.0001 BTC (~$6).

Regulatory Landscape

Binance.US operates under significant regulatory pressure. The SEC sued Binance and Binance.US in 2023, alleging unregistered securities trading and misrepresentation of market controls. As a result, Binance.US delisted over 400 trading pairs and paused direct fiat deposits. As of 2026, the lawsuit continues, and the exchange operates in a limited number of US states. The global Binance platform is not available to US residents. These issues create uncertainty about the platform's future.

Coin Selection

Despite delistings, Binance.US still offers 150+ coins — more than Coinbase (200+) but fewer than the global Binance platform. It tends to list smaller altcoins earlier than other US exchanges. However, some popular coins (like Monero) are not available. Liquidity is lower than Coinbase and Kraken for many pairs, meaning wider spreads.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Lowest fees of any US exchange
  • Good altcoin selection (150+)
  • Advanced trading features
  • BNB discount on fees

Cons

  • Ongoing SEC lawsuit creates uncertainty
  • Limited US state availability
  • No fiat deposits in many states
  • Lower liquidity than Coinbase/Kraken
  • No margin or futures trading
  • Customer support quality has declined

Verdict

Binance.US offers the best fees and altcoin selection for US traders who can access it. However, the regulatory uncertainty is real — the SEC lawsuit could result in further restrictions or shutdown of the platform. Use Binance.US if you want low fees and specific altcoins, but do not hold large balances on the exchange. Withdraw to your own wallet after trading. For most users, Kraken offers similar low fees with much less regulatory risk.

Best for: Active traders who want the lowest fees, altcoin traders.

Not ideal for: Anyone concerned about regulatory stability, users in restricted states.
