Bahrain Wealth Tax Guide 2026

Bahrain does not impose any form of wealth tax, net-worth tax, or annual property tax. High-net-worth individuals and families can hold and grow assets without recurring wealth-based tax liabilities.

No Wealth Tax

None — Bahrain has no annual wealth tax on individuals or companies. There is no tax on net worth, total assets, or any other measure of personal or corporate wealth.

No Property Wealth Tax

None — There is no annual property tax based on property value. The only property-related charges are the one-time 0.5% registration fee on acquisition and the 10% municipal fee on rental value (paid by tenants). See Property Tax Guide for details.

No Financial Transaction Tax

Bahrain does not levy a financial transaction tax, Tobin tax, or stamp duty on securities transactions. Trading on the Bahrain Bourse incurs only a minimal administrative fee of approximately 0.002%.

No Net-Worth Tax

There is no net-worth or fortune tax. Assets held in Bahrain — including bank deposits, investment portfolios, real estate, and businesses — are not subject to annual taxation based on their value.

No Exit Tax

Individuals leaving Bahrain (expatriates or emigrating citizens) are not subject to any exit tax. There is no deemed disposal of assets upon leaving the country.
